Hines’ 21 lead Alabama State past Arkansas-Pine Bluff 83-72

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) — CJ Hines’ 21 points helped Alabama State defeat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 83-72 on Monday night.

Hines had five assists for the Hornets (7-8, 2-0 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Sean Smith scored 14 points, shooting 5 of 6 from the field and 4 for 4 from the line. Amarr Knox had 11 points and shot 4 of 8 from the field and 3 for 4 from the line.

The Golden Lions (5-10, 0-2) were led by Kylen Milton, who recorded 16 points and 11 rebounds. Rashad Williams added 14 points for UAPB. Joe French also put up 11 points.
