Residents near the Syrian capital of Damascus described a “difficult” aftermath and extensive property damage after clashes erupted recently. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a war monitor, said that 22 people had been killed in the clashes altogether, 16 of whom were members of the security forces.
