Representatives for Germany’s center-right Union bloc and the center-left Social Democrats on Monday formally signed a coalition agreement in Berlin. The new coalition is led by Friedrich Merz’s Christian Democratic Union and its Bavarian sister party, the Christian Social Union, and is joined by the center-left Social Democrats.
